I love things where people solve unsolvable mysteries with cool ideas like this. Its like an old campfire story, I really like it!
The rays of sunlight beaming down are nice (I dunno those stuck out to me)

Thank you! I always find those types of stories fun because people always make up stories that sound terrifying to explain something as simple as the moss growing on the north side of the tree.

The rays coming from the creature's eyes came to me as a pretty good idea because it made the lighting a lot easier to manage in my head. Allowed me to do sharper shadows and all that jazz. I'm glad you liked it!
